Dustin Diamond Arrested for Reckless Endangerment
The 37-year-old actor and stand-up comedian is facing felony reckless endangerment, along with two misdemeanors, since being arrested on December 25 outside a Wisconsin bar for allegedly stabbing a fellow patron. According to Dustin’s attorney, there were no witnesses reported to have seen the stabbing take place and though the victim was not seriously injured, the judge determined that enough evidence existed for the case to warrant a trial.
Dustin “Screech” Diamond’s Girlfriend
Amanda Schutz, Dustin’s fiancee, admitted to police that she had shoved a woman who was making offensive remarks towards her soon to be husband – antagonizing the two as they tried to enjoy the evening at Grand Avenue Saloon.
Dustin stated to investigators that the two women then began to fight and two men got involved by holding Amanda by her hair.
Dustin Diamond’s Wisconsin Court Hearing
Ryan Hurda, a Port Washington police officer, testified at Monday’s hearing that as Dustin moved towards the altercation a man shoved the actor. The brother of the man apparently “intervened when he heard the snap of a knife,” Hurda explained. Officer Hurda also told the judge that the brother did not witness Dustin stab the victim and that video surveillance from the bar’s security system failed to catch footage of the crime.
“No, it’s not distinct, but you see he’s holding some type of object in his right hand,” Hurda stated in reference to the surveillance footage.
Dustin’s lawyer, Thomas Alberti, said that there were six people interviewed by police and not one of them bore witness to the stabbing.
Dustin was released on a $10,000 bond and was given permission by the court to leave Wisconsin temporarily to continue his out-of-state stand-up tour.
Reports are stating that Dustin told the police that he “accidentally” stabbed the man while coming to his fiancee’s aid.
